Travertine Color Enhancement
Natural Stones such as - sandstone and travertine are high-end building materials used for indoor and outdoor surfaces. Coating or sealing for unpolished stones is highly recommended to add durability and restore its beautiful texture. Environmental damages also contribute to the factors for identifying the causes as to why sealing or coating for natural stones is a necessity. Ure-Seal coating is well sought-after for its super hydrophobic properties. Ure-Seal long-standing coating ensures promising results for up to 2 years. The natural stone sealing is not affected by any weather changes and remain waterproof due to its penetration into the surfaces’ pores. The surfaces get natural look and stay non-slippery and this is most perfectly suitable for pool decks, pool copings, driveways, and many more regularly-used areas.
Step 1 – A certified technician visits the premises to check and verify the services required for the natural stone surfaces. Next, the team begins the process to sanitize and clean the debris on the surface. After ensuring the stain and dirt is removed, pressure washing and soft washing is performed. This process of water rinsing takes away detergents and/or acids, if they were previously applied.
Step 2 – Prior to the application of the sealant, certified technicians replenish any sand lost from cleaning the natural stone joints and also if natural stones are not grouted. Upon completion of sanding and when natural stones are dry to the touch, certified technicians begin the application of the Ure-Seal sealant.
Ure-Seal normally dries in sunny areas within 2-3 hours but it requires nearly 24-36 hours for curing. Shaded areas, low temperatures, or higher humidity may slow down the drying process. The surface may be kept open to foot traffic in 2-3 hours and to vehicular traffic in 24-36 hours. We recommends all sprinkler systems be turned off during this time to allow proper curing.
Ure-Seal is a protectant that layers your stone surface with super hydrophobic coating thereby reducing mold and mildew. Periodic washing with plain water to keep the area clean is recommended. Acids, gasoline, hydraulic fluids, and motor oil spills need to be removed from the surface as soon as possible.
